Just two rounds remain in the Group 16 competition and critically, the tri-colours find themselves just one competition point outside the top five ahead of finals.
"We've got to win both of our last two games to make it," first grade coach Scott Barton said. "It's between us, Bombala and Tathra in the last two rounds."
Barton said the injury-toll on the Roosters had subsided a bit with the timely weekend off, while the club will also welcome the return of Ryan Apps to the field on Saturday.
"He's been back training for a few weeks and will have a run, he'll add some leadership out there and all the boys enjoy playing with Ryan," Barton said.
For the Roosters, Saturday marks two opportunities, a chance to make a push for finals play and also "rectify" what happened in their last outing, the coach said.
"They've had the wood over us in a couple of big matches, they came out and ambushed us in that last game and credit to them, we didn't stand up to the challenge, so this is a chance to fix what happened last time.
"It's a big rivalry and you're always going out there with a little bit more in it."
In many ways it will be a battle for supremacy of the ruck and it will see some big names of Group 16 making some impactful hit-ups.
For Tathra it will be the likes of Mitch Carter and Connor Carr with the added running prowess of players like Declan Bower-Scott.
Meanwhile, Bega will look to their stalwarts this year in Dan Hyland, Jordan Gray-Balcomb and captain Scott Fuller.
"Jordy has been amazing all year in his first year out of the 18s, he's been a pleasure to coach," Barton said, adding that players like Hyland and Fuller had been "great all year, they just go forward, and they'll need to be good on the weekend to get that win over Tathra."
Barton said there were always standout performers, but it would take a full-team effort across the park.
"It's up to every individual to do their job, but it needs to be across the whole 17."
The Roosters will don a striking New Zealand-themed jumper for the weekend, which has been specially designed for the day by Linda Walker.
Barton said it was a fantastic jumper and hoped the Roosters would rise to the occasion and show their appreciation for the players who have left their home country to be part of the club this year.
A win for Tathra will shore up their place and leave Bega out of finals contention, or a win for Bega will elevate themselves into contention leaving the Eagles a must-win last ditch effort next weekend.
All four grades will run with 18s from noon and first grade to kick off at 4pm.
