How much chaos can one car cause on Australia's highways in a day? Police were shocked to find a Nissan Dualis allegedly at the centre of two Gold Coast car crashes on August 27. The incidents started at around midday on the Pacific Motorway when the Nissan was allegedly involved in a crash that damaged its bonnet. The 25-year-old Nissan driver continued down the motorway without securing the bonnet which soon flipped up to damage the windshield and detach from the car. Police said luckily no one was injured. Officers pulled over the damaged car and performed a roadside drug test on the driver. The test returned a positive result and the driver was given a 24 hour drivers licence suspension and several traffic infringement notices including: A 'police aware' sticker was attached to the windscreen and officers assumed the Nissan's wild ride was over. But at around 9pm on the evening of August 27, police were called to a single-vehicle crash on Smith Street in Molendinar. The same car had flipped onto it's side during the accident and landed on an embankment in a thicket of trees. The person behind the wheel was allegedly the passenger in the earlier crash at Gaven. He was taken to hospital in a stable condition where he returned a positive roadside drug test. The second 25-years-old was issued two infringement notices including $361 for driving a defective vehicle and $309 for driving without clear view. The police aware sticker was obstructing the windshield, officers said. He was also given a Notice to Appear for failing to provide blood specimen and is expected to appear before the Southport Magistrates Court on October 11. IN OTHER NEWS:
