Brendan Buckley was on hand for the official draw over the weekend and was congratulated by event secretary Jane Funston.
Ms Funston congratulated Brendan and his team and said organisers were hoping to back up from one of the biggest years ever in 2019.
"Our concerns about the entries after the fires were unfounded with 374 swimmers taking part," Ms Funston said.
That number was just 20 shy of being the biggest event yet and Ms Funston and officials are hoping the 2020 Betta Electrical Wharf to Waves could break the record to be the biggest ocean swim in a decade.
Last year reached new highs in community fundraising with over $32,000 split between the Surf Life Saving Club, the Tathra Rural Fire Service and a number of schools and community groups.
Fundraising is already up with an extra $1300 raised through the business house draw alone.
Organisers have also launched a revamped website, while improvements were being made to entries and the running of the day.
With the changes in place, officials are hoping to gain that little boost to make the 2020 Wharf to Waves truly spectacular.
Long-standing sponsors like Betta Electrical and Bega Cheese have continued their support for one of the country's most iconic ocean swims, while there are also new businesses getting behind the 600 and 1200-metre swims.
Tathra Beachside will continue as the major supporter of the fun run after hosting their maiden event last, while Tathra Beach and Bike continue their support for the Bega to the Beach bike ride.
Ms Funston said it was through the tremendous support of business like Betta Electrical that the Wharf to Waves could not only provide massive donations to community groups, but also exceptional prizes for competitors.
The 2020 Betta Electrical Wharf to Waves is scheduled to run on the weekend of January 18-19 with information about earlybird entries to be announced soon.
