Rose gold and metallic are the theme for the day with race promoter Jess O'Donnell saying it would be all about the accessories for the ladies.

"The accessories will be the crux of the theme and it's a chance to get your bling on with the little accents like shoes, clutches and fascinators the key for ladies," Ms O'Donnell said.

There is also plenty of prizes up for grabs for the best dressed man as well and Ms O'Donnell said gunmetal and mid-grey suits would be one of the popular choices among the gents.

Ms O'Donnell said there would be a few local judges on hand to pick the best dressed of the ladies, mens and couples with prizes on offer from Merimbula Jewellers, 2Blond Hair Studio in Pambula and Swannies.

The Cup provides the largest fashion and social day of the year with Ms O'Donnell saying it was also a great option for an early business Christmas party.

"We've already got a number of business groups booked in, but the weather forecast is looking spectacular and there is plenty of seating."

Those looking to enjoy a trackside picnic are also welcome with plenty of shade under the new sails and extended seating areas.

When Sapphire last hosted Melbourne Cup in 2017 there were masses on hand to enjoy the day with about 1200 people through the gate and Ms O'Donnell said the club was expecting a similar figure on Tuesday.

"There is a lot of buzz around town, it's a massive social day so we think there could be good crowds."

And there will be some good odds for punters too with a stronger than expected field of nominations already looking to book a run ahead of Tuesday's five-race card.

The club has EFTPOS facilities, full canteen and bar.

There will also be multiple free buses running to and from the course, with pick up and drop off times at www.sapphirecoastturfclub.com.au.

If buses fill up, more will be sent to ensure the crowds can travel safely.
