Terry Kirby won the first race convincingly, then quit while he was ahead and didn't start race two.Jeff Hope and Morrie Lynch had led for most of race, but were pipped at the last mark, while Terry Ubrihien charged through the field to claim third. Joey Lydiard topped race two, with Ubrihien finishing second with Rob Morton getting some spectacular air to finish third.
Officials said a battle between Rod Anderson and Bob Harris was the highlight of the day who had raced evenly throughout the day.
Rod finished ahead in race one, but Bob was in the lead near the finish of race two when he capsized - but Rod also capsized when both were within 50 metres of the finish and the race became to right the boat.
Rod won that battle, while Bob laughed it off. It was all good fun. Saturday two Pointscore races are planned. For more visit www.wlbc.org.au.
