Merimbula got off to a great start to the match, holding Bermagui scoreless as they clawed to an eight-point lead at the first break.
However, Bermagui worked back into the contest in the second, and two goals from Scott Parsons saw them lead 3.2 (20) to 2.4 (16) at the main break.
The Diggers hit the accelerator after half time, and turned a four-point deficit into a 16-point lead at one stage in the last quarter.
Bermagui kept coming at the Diggers, and Campbell Moresi threatened to take the game away on his own in the forward line, but Merimbula had enough to keep the Breakers at arm's length and win 6.7 (43) to 5.4 (34).
Merimbula will now play the undefeated Narooma Lions in next weekend's grand final at Merimbula's Berrambool Oval.
