However, the clouds parted and the breezes rolled in for the two races on the day.
Race One saw a close contest up front, with Josh Dorrough leading, then the Morton's taking over, with John on the RS100 and Tony Hastings and Luca Dorrough close behind.
Meanwhile, Joey and Terry fought out the Multihull division - winning a race each.
Rob and Sian Morton won, Josh and Jarrah Dorrough second, and Neil Fisher 3rd.
The wind cranked to an estimated 20 knots by race 2, sending a few to the safety of shore. The Mortons lead again, with Tony Hastings close behind.
Josh and Jarrah went in at the gybe mark and chose to retire after the first lap.
After the races were over, the boats were packed up and the sailors retired to the club house. Next week the last handicap-start races of the season are planned. Visit wlbc.org.au
