In the hunt for a fourth-straight premiership, Hudson said the pair will be looking to maintain the worth ethic the Roosters have boasted in past seasons.
It’s a privilege to wear that Rooster on your chest; the club has a very proud history and we want to continue that.

“Ricky and I will definitely have that hard-working coaching style,” Hudson said. “The way Scott Barton went about things was very professional and I think the way he built that was great.”
He said it was a level of work ethic could be rare in the reserve grade competition.
“[Because of the work] we really believed in each other and that won’t be changing at all,” he said.
The Roosters proved too strong for Cooma in this year’s grand final, picking up their third straight premiership with a resounding 30-10 result.
There was no single star shining in the win either, with six individual try scorers setting up Bega’s result.
As members of that winning team moving forward, the duo will naturally be injecting a little bit of their own style with a focus on good aggressive football from the outset.
“We will have our own spin on things and we are looking forward to doing the job together and bouncing ideas off each other,” Hudson said.
The duo have been team-mates in premierships in both first grade and reserve grades and have clear aspirations to continue that form into 2019.
“We want to build on that success and we’ll both continue on the field as playing-captain-coaches.,” Hudson said.
“It’s a privilege to wear that Rooster on your chest; the club has a very proud history and we want to continue that.
“There are a lot of young blokes around the club, which is great, it adds a lot of depth to all grades and with the rumours of former Bega players going to rival clubs, it just adds that spark to succeed and chase the wins.”
He said it was an honour for the pair to take on the coaching role and said the “good mates” were looking forward to the challenge, adding the Roosters were headed in the right direction.
Following two years at the helm, Scott Barton will now take on the coaching role of first grade.
