The Eurovision Song Contest is one of the longest running television shows in the world.
For 59 years, a host of European nations have competed for the crown and turned the competition into an annual spectacle with a world wide audience in excess of half a billion people.
The first contest back in 1956 saw just seven countries compete but in 2015 there are 39 nations fighting for victory, including a one-off appearance from Australia.
Famous for catchy songs that will be stuck in your head for days, drinking games and politically strategic voting – Eurovision offers something for everyone.
Here is a re-cap of the winning songs throughout the years.
Spain | Salome: Vivo Cantando
United Kingdom | Lulu: Boom Bang-a-Bang
Netherlands | Lenny Kuhr: De troubadour
France | Frida Boccara: Un jour, un enfant
