Food Truck Fridays have proven to be incredibly popular and this week, in collaboration with the Bega Valley Regional Gallery (BVRG) and South East Arts, there will be many things to see and sample in Bega.
This includes seven food trucks, dance performances, live music both at Littleton Gardens and in Rixon's arcade near the Nook café, shops staying open late and a jewellery exhibition opening at Green Queen.
"I love a good collaboration. And I think collaborating with Art Month is great, because it's a win win for everyone," Food Truck Collective organiser Clair Mudaliar said.
The BVRG as part of its Art Month Sapphire Coast program for August, has organised extra entertainment for the night, which includes performances from the Tribal Belly Dancers, Stella McMahon, Fling and The Sugar Ants.
"It's going to be the best entertainment line-up we've had at a Food Truck Friday," Ms Mudaliar said.
Lisa Herbert, one of the BVRG project managers, said that in collaboration with the Bega Business Chamber, they've asked businesses to stay open late, much like the late night shopping event held for Mother's Day in May.
The live performances will be out of Sam's Caravan, a mobile stage made by Candelo artist Sam Martin, who provided live entertainment at the last food truck event in Tathra.
Ms Herbert said another exciting addition to the night was a Bega Cheese toastie shop being run through the Nook café.
"It's all about Bega Cheese toasties, but because the Heritage Centre is closed it's just going to be at the Nook with all the products that they usually use at the Heritage Centre," Ms Herbert said.
The food trucks will be setting up in the space between Littleton Gardens and the arcade that leads to the Nook café.
The event will kick off at 4.30pm, August 13, at Littleton Gardens and will run until 8pm, visit the Art Month website for more details of the event.
COVID-safe changes made for Food Truck Friday event
As a result of recent COVID-19 regulations and restrictions, this Food Truck Friday event will have a few changes.
Unlike previous events there won't be alcoholic winter drinks, and masks will have to be worn at this outdoor public gathering.
These changes were made in accordance with recent New South Wales health guidelines for COVID-19.
The event will also require people to register for a free online ticket to attend and people are recommended to practice their social distancing.
Tickets for the Food Truck Friday event can be found either on the Food Truck Collective Facebook page or on the Art Month Sapphire Coast website.
Despite the recent COVID-19 restrictions and changes, organisers of the event have, if anything, strengthened their resolve to make the event go ahead.
"We thought of cancelling but we're sort of at a point now where it's going to be like this for a while," Ms Mudaliar said.
"So we felt that we should just push on, do it as COVID safe as possible and still try to give the community something to look forward to.
"I think having a bit of positivity and still holding events for the community is really important at the moment," she said.
