Two people have died following a helicopter crash in the Snowy Mountains on Monday night. This is the second helicopter crash in the area in just over three weeks.

About 11.55pm, April 4, emergency services located the wreckage of a helicopter about 200m east of the Snowy Mountains Highway, Kiandra Flats, following a request from the AMSA Joint Rescue Coordinator Centre after the aircraft was last tracked in the area.
The occupants died at the scene. Their identities are yet to be confirmed.
This comes after another helicopter crashed in the region on March 11 where the pilot and two of the passengers were flown to hospital.
Officers from Riverina Police District have established a crime scene which will be examined by specialist police.
An investigation into the circumstances of the crash will be undertaken.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has been notified.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
