Five films created by local Bega Valley artists and featuring the iconic wooden bridges along the Tathra-Bermagui Rd will have their world premiere on Sunday, April 3, at the Bega Civic Centre.

Home Stretch, a ground-breaking series of performance videos commissioned by Four Winds Festival, will also be featured as part of the forthcoming festival on Easter Weekend.
Home Stretch is based on an original concept by Four Winds Festival creative director Lindy Hume.
The Home Stretch suite is accompanied by The Space Between Everything - a specially commissioned poem by Raechelle Kennedy.

"I am incredibly proud to finally share this suite of films with the local community," Ms Hume said.
"Each film was made in quite difficult circumstances during some of the dark COVID times of 2021.
"Each creative team and film crew rose magnificently to the challenges of performing on the bridge in all kinds of weather, and during a pandemic, but they have created a truly beautiful suite of films that showcases not only their talents but how connected they are to this much-loved road and its iconic bridges.
"Home Stretch is a creative celebration, a cultural document, an adventure journey.
"I urge every South Coast local to discover this free installation as an immersive experience along the Tathra-Bermagui Rd during the festival."
For the full Home Stretch experience, after its premiere screening in Bega, audiences can view the videos in situation along the Tathra-Bermagui Rd.
Audiences are invited to drive the route, then see the films.
Venues will be open from April 9-15, 10am until 4pm, and April 16-17, 9am until 5pm.
Walawaani (Wallaga Lake), Quiet Town (Murrah Bridge) and The Traveller (Cuttagee Bridge) can be seen at Murrah Hall (2989 Tathra-Bermagui Rd, Murrah).
The Crossing (Wapengo Bridge) and Down by the Water (Sandy Creek Bridge) can be seen at Navigate Arts (1140 Tathra-Bermagui Rd, Tanja).
All five films will also be presented as a suite at the Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre, Zingel Place Bega, Monday to Friday 9am until 4.30pm and will also feature at 6.30pm before Leonard's Beautiful Pictures on Friday, April 15, as part of the free opening day activities of the festival.

Wallaga Lake - Walawaani
Wallaga Lake Bridge becomes a stage for the Djinama Yiliga Choir to sing a Welcome to Country.
Bird's eye-view aerials capture the natural beauty and ecology of Wallaga Lake and intertwine with performance footage to provide a sense of place and Country.

Cuttagee - The Traveller
A mystical traveller discovers a unique instrument in the form of a bridge bringing to life the memory of the landscape through percussive energy.

Murrah - Quiet Town
Five musicians heralding from Candelo come together to perform 'Quiet Town', a song written by Melanie Horsnell. The song is a warm poem of love and appreciation to Melanie's South Coast home, the lands and community of Candelo and its surrounding areas.

Sandy Creek - Down by the Water

Wapengo - The Crossing
The Crossing was filmed over a two-week period at Wapengo Bridge with a small intimate crew. From this exploration evolved dream-like images and reflections, elements of memory and passing moments to evoke a strong sense of place.
