The Bega River at Bega North peaked at 5.80m around 10.30am Friday, December 10, with minor flooding.
The river levels are now falling according to the latest SES alert, however renewed rises are still possible as heavy rainfall across Friday and into the weekend is predicted.
While rain rates have eased in the last six hours, further rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast across the South Coast for the next 12 hours where further river level rises are possible. The Bureau is closely monitoring the situation and will issue revised predictions where necessary
Motorists should never drive through flood waters, which may have washed away road surfaces and could be deeper or faster-flowing than they look.
For emergency help in floods and storms, call the NSW State Emergency Service on 132 500.
In life threatening situations call triple zero (000) immediately

As of 8.30am Friday, December 10, a severe weather warning for intense rainfall remains current for the South Coast.
The Bega River at Bega North is expected to reach around 5.40 metres 10am Friday, with minor flooding. Further rises are possible.
Heavy rainfall has been observed in the past 24 hours across the Bega River catchment which has caused rapid river level rises on the upstream tributaries of Bega and Brogo Rivers. Brogo dam is spilling.
While rain rates have eased in the last six hours, further intense rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast across the South Coast for the next 18 hours where further river level rises are possible.
The Bureau is closely monitoring the situation and will issue revised predictions where necessary.
