A low pressure centre has formed off the southern NSW coast bringing heavy rainfall and major flooding to the South Coast.

The Bureau of Meteorology reported wet, stormy and windy conditions would continue Friday across parts of the South Coast, Illawarra and the southeast of NSW, before easing later in the evening as the low moves further away from the NSW coast.
Major Flood Warnings are current for the Deua River (at Wamban) and Snowy River (possible on Saturday).
On Thursday, Bega reached a maximum of 16.7C. This is the lowest maximum temperature recorded this late in the season - 30years of record - the BoM reported.
Heaviest rainfall locations in the 24 hours up until 9am on Friday include:
- Moruya 209 mm
- Lake Conjola 204 mm
- Fisherman's repeater 156 mm
- Bega 128mm
- Nimmitabel 123mm
- Brogo 111mm
- Ulladulla 104mm

Meanwhile, on Friday at 11am a severe thunderstorm moved through the Sydney metropolitan region. Small hail was observed in the Sydney CBD.
At Ketlyn in Sydney's southwest, 48mm of rain fell in the one hour leading up to 12.15pm.
In northern NSW, major flooding is current in Mungindi with a higher peak of 7.9m expected to be exceeded into Saturday. This will be higher than the January 2011 level.
Warnings will be regularly updated as the weather and flood forecasts evolve.
The Bureau is recommending that residents of NSW and the ACT monitor forecasts and warnings closely this summer.
