Both Weston Creek and Bega Rotary Clubs have been propagating and growing plants for the region for about the past 10 months and have about 4500 garden plants like vegetables and trees to share with the region.
"We thought with the Rotary clubs doing this it'd be a great opportunity to turn it into a community fun day, as we all need it here," Cobargo Green Recovery's Tania Lingard said.
This Saturday's fun day is for Cobargo and Quaama and their surrounding districts, such as Yowrie, Wandella, Coolagolite, that were badly effected by the summer bushfires.
"Not everyone lost their gardens, but everyone has been effected in some way," Ms Lingard said.
Aside from the plethora of plants to give away there will be many activities to keep locals entertained.
The event will be opened with a performance by Koori Choir Djinma Yilaga, then there will be performances by other South Coast musicians and plenty of games for the kids, like egg and spoon races and gumboot throwing.
Also, PCYC will be providing "bubble soccer" and headspace will run a mini potting succulent activity for the older youths.
There will also be a free sausage sizzle as well as morning teas and cakes provided by the Red Cross.
The Out of the Fires: Plant Giveaway Fun Day being planned by Cobargo Green Recovery will be held on Saturday, November 14 from 10am to 2pm at the Cobargo Showground, Cobargo.
The fun day and plant giveaway are free to the community. For more information on the event visit its Facebook page by clicking here.
