A staff member who has returned a positive COVID-19 test prompted the temporary closure of a Highlands supermarket.
A Woolworths spokesperson said they were notified a team member at its Bowral store had tested positive for COVID-19.
"We're making contact with our Bowral team members and will provide our full support to those required to self-isolate in line with advice from the health authorities," the spokesperson said.
"As a food retailer, we already have very high standards of cleaning and hygiene in place. As an extra precautionary measure, the store has been closed overnight for an additional deep clean.
"While the risk of transmission to customers and team members is low, the safety and wellbeing of the local community is our priority.
"Customers and team members should be assured they can continue to safely shop and work at our Bowral supermarket.
"Any customers who shopped in our Bowral store on July 12 and feel unwell in the next two weeks should make contact with NSW Health."
The Woolworths spokesperson said the team member last worked at Woolworths Bowral on Sunday, July 12 and did not present with any symptoms of illness at the time. The team member is now in self-isolation.
"We became aware of the case on July 14. We have placed a customer notification up in multiple parts of the store," the spokesperson said.
"Woolworths has special COVID-19 leave top-up provisions in place.
"This ensures no team members will be financially disadvantaged based on their employment status or availability of personal leave if they contract COVID-19 or are required to self-isolate."
Woolworths Bowral re-opened at 7am on Wednesday, July 15.
ACM has been advised the team at both the Bowral and Mittagong stores have been issued and asked to wear face masks.
