Cole's food charity partner Foodbank arrived in Cobargo last week with a truckload of supplies at the town's showground where 80-90 families were camped out after seeking refuge from the fire.
Foodbank delivered about 26 pallets of supplies, about half of them from Coles, including eight pallets of fresh produce, one pallet of sausages and one pallet of bacon
The food was distributed to the families at the showground and to the field kitchen being operated on site by emergency services.
Pambula logistics business Bobbins Transport has been working to distribute the Foodbank donations from Coles and other organisations around the South Coast since bushfires emergency began.
On January 9, Foodbank dispatched another load of supplies of fresh food from their warehouse in Sydney to Bobbins' depot in Pambula for distribution on an as-needs basis to relief centres around the South Coast.
"Coles is continuing to donate food, water and other essential supplies to emergency services and evacuation centres in fire-affected areas, whether directly, via government agencies or through our partnership with Foodbank," a Coles spokesperson said.
"We are also collecting donations for the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund at checkouts across Australia, and as a thank you to all volunteer firefighters Coles is also providing over $3million in gift cards to more than 6000 rural fire brigades across Australia."
