Presented by the Bega Chamber of Commerce, winners will be announced at a formal gala dinner on November 9 in "a great excuse to get all glammed up" according to chamber president John Watkin.
Special guest emcee for the event will be media personality and former news presenter Tim Webster.
Mr Watkin said that rather than a popularity contest or a judgement on how successful a business was, these awards are highlighting the customer experience one can expect in Bega.
"We're pretty excited as the response has been overwhelming," he said.
"We've received hundreds of nominations and interestingly some of our finalists had multiple nominations meaning they are really offering a great experience for customers."
As well as customers nominating their favourites, five mystery judges have been making the rounds in order to whittle down the finalists to a shortlist of five per category.
"People think the chamber is all about bricks and mortar stores," Mr Watrkin said.
"But we're much more than that and represent the voices of businesses right across the community - as can be seen by the list of finalists."
On November 9 at the Bega Commemorative Civic Centre, the red carpet will be rolled out "quite literally" Mr Watkin said, for drinks and canapes upon arrival prior to a two-course sit-down meal and the awards presentation.
Tickets to the gala awards night are $80 a head and available from Monday, October 21, at Inspirations Paint.
