On Saturday, April 27 at 10.30am, polymath, jackaroo, agricultural and rural reporter, wool industry expert and playwright Alex Nicol will host a forum in Candelo Park for a discussion with local farmers and anyone interested in farming and rural life.
At 2pm that day at the Candelo General Store, Brianna Shaw will lead an introductory acting workshop.
Introduction into Acting and Vulnerability will include a variety of different acting techniques that can be used to learn the basic skills on how to perform.
No experience is needed to release your inner actor in a supportive, safe and fun atmosphere.
Then at 3pm The Literature Lounge will open in the Candelo Town Hall with Ailsa Wild, Kate Liston-Mills, Gabbie Stroud and Nicol in conversation about young people and writing from the perspective of four highly respected writers, teachers, adventurers, journalists and playwrights.
Wild is an acclaimed, Candelo-raised children's author, Stroud is freelance writer, novelist and recovering teacher and Liston-Mills is a Pambula-based author, journalist and poet.
On Sunday, April 28 at 9am Wild will host Squishy Taylor's special send-off party: Announcing ... Squishy Taylor and the Secret Envelope which is book 10.
This is the last in the series - so it is time to celebrate all that is Squishy!
Join author Wild for a book reading and a hilarious group story-writing adventure.
Also on the Sunday, at 10am the Candelo Town Hall will host a forum on gender equity in the music industry led by Leisha Jungalwalla and Cat Leahy of This Way North.
The two will discuss their event Sass the Patriarchy, an event where music meets an empowering panel discussion on strategies to continue to improve equality in the music industry.
The festival still needs volunteers to share the load. If putting in for the community is your bag or maybe you like the idea of wearing a hi-vis vest (or low-vis if that is your preference), then the festival needs you.
Organisers ask for volunteers to put in six hours of their time over the weekend.
In appreciation of their effort, volunteers will receive a village fringe pass for free entry to all fringe events and the festival closing party, which is exclusively for volunteers, artists and sponsors.
Volunteers can register at the festival website.
