Dairy farmers from South Australia, NSW and local areas around Tatura are now identifying the benefits in using guano and ammonium sulphate, which are sold as products by SMS called Guano and AmSul.
SMS said the demand for Guano and AmSul products has grown at a rapid rate over the past 18months, with early pre-season orders for autumn applications.
The makeup of over 60 minerals has been identified in Guano.
SMS said it contains all the nutrients that farmers need to reach maximum growth rates, to build and condition their soils.
The need to change to natural fertilizers takes time; but farmers are slowly are learning with field days, information nights and presentation packs explaining the products and their benefits.
This has given farmers the information needed to recognize the natural richness of guano.
SMS said the real benefit of using natural-based fertilizers is once the soil has reached the highest nutrient level for growth, the application the following year is reduced, and in the years ahead a reduced application is applied, controlling and monitoring the soil balance.
SMS is inviting farmers to a information night at Bega at Club Bega on February 10.
The night starts at 6.30pm and to register ring John on 0419 293 210.
At this presentation, SMS will demonstrate the importance of soil management and achieve the best possible results.
Brenton Byerlee, an ag science lecturer of 36 years and the managing director of SMS will present a visual display.
Farmers will have the chance to ask important questions about what will help and maintain a healthy growing environment in their soils and plants to achieve the best possible growth rates and outcomes for the future and beyond.
SMS is a business that specialises in soil and plant nutrition.
