Official guest, Mayor Bob Stewart gave the toast to Lions International and made reference during his address to the value of voluntary groups such as Lions within the community.
Outgoing and Incoming President Graham Hampshire gave his President’s Report during which he thanked his board for their commitment throughout the year.
He reflected upon the success of the club and made particular reference to the fact that Bombala Lions had donated to Lions projects and local community groups a total of $71,600.00 since 2008/09, which he and all present thought is a truly remarkable total given the size of the club and population from which it draws members.
Graham also commented on the ongoing major project for the club being the River Walking Track and how it continues to be such a benefit to Bombala. The sculptures that have been erected add to the natural beauty of the river precinct and when finally completed will be a highlight for visitors and locals.
The induction of the incoming Board for 2015/16 was conducted by Zone Chairman, Brian Farmer and sees Graham Hampshire (President), Murray Garnock (Treasurer) and Clare Trevanion (Secretary) reinstated.
The club definitely promotes recycling as these positions are a repeat of the previous year!
As with all other service clubs within our district, Bombala Lions is always looking for new members who may be able to continue the proud tradition of Lions in Bombala in the years to come.
