Trees back please
Now that the council cannot fund Littleton Gardens, can we have our beautiful huge gums back?

Or at least restore the kiddies’ park they’ve decimated that the local day care mums used.
And the tree that shaded the park would be good to have back too.
The top of Brown Mt looks hacked.
The northern entrance to Bermi has lost its dense beauty.
I feel so sorry for Dr Matthew Nott and people elike him who try so hard to do the right thing when others seem to simply not care!
There are some other beautiful avenues of trees in Bega, but I won’t mention them in case they get chopped down.

Tathra
Road appalling
As a regular visitor to the Tathra area over the last 20 years I am appalled at the idea of a road around the headland when a walking path would suffice and be a credit to the area.
It would be a real pleasure to be able to view the rocks with the sea breaking over them from a seat along the edge of the path.
This would not be feasible from a road, which would probably become a race track for bikers in a very short time.
I should also worry that parking at the wharf would be very much reduced to accommodate a bus drop off and increase the flow of traffic trying to look at the view.

Repeat mistake
Regardless of what happened to the original Tathra Headland road, who has the right to start building roads around headlands these days?
What next, Bermagui?
Hopefully the Far South Coast headlands remain open space so that people can really enjoy them.
Rebuilding the previous road is just duplicating the mistakes of the past.

Bega
Moving show
May I express my gratitude to the Bega Show Society for a wonderful three-day show.
Friends and I travelled from northern NSW to accompany their family members to the opening ceremony.
It was a moving and impressive experience.
Despite the heat, we enjoyed everything and the friendly volunteers were very obliging.
A special mention for the local band members and the piper who did such a great job.
God bless.

Sponsors thanked
Bega Amateur Swimming Club would like to thank the sponsors of the recent Business House Relay night.
There were many local small businesses that sponsored a relay team.
The National Australia Bega branch and Clark and Rideaux solicitors were major sponsors of the night.
A small club like Bega values and greatly appreciates the much needed support of these two major sponsors.
The Business House Relay night is a fundraiser for the club and this year the club donated the money to the Jacqui Britton fund.
NAB and Clark & Rideaux have sponsored this event for many years and contribute to the success of the night.
Thank you sponsors!
