A BEMBOKA woman charged with a number of driving offences in the wake of a crash that claimed the life of a Bega Valley man and injured five others, has been committed for trial.

Margaret Ballard, 62, appeared in Bega Local Court on Tuesday charged with a number of offences relating to a crash that occurred in November 2013 on the Princes Hwy just north of Bega.
She has been charged with one count of dangerous driving occasioning death; and two counts of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm; as well as back-up charges of negligent driving occasioning death and two counts of negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.
She is also charged with driving a vehicle with an illicit drug present in blood.
Ms Ballard was committed to stand trial in Bega District Court on the main three charges, with Magistrate Doug Dick noting the four remaining charges will also be passed along to the District Court.
