“It was a really great game, but she was a tough one,” Breakers club president Tim Holdsworth said.
“The boys started off a little bit flat, but found it in themselves to bounce back.
“The last quarter was going tit for tat.”
Mr Holdsworth said this was a great result, considering last year the Breakers didn’t have a team and in February it was still up in the air if Bermagui would get one together.
The Breakers got out of their match against the Diggers pretty injury-free, except for a couple of concussions.
Mr Holdsworth also wanted to make note of the great recent performance of the under 13s, who are third on the ladder and recently played an “outstanding” match against Merimbula.
Bermagui will be hosting a home game as part of the finals this Saturday, and Mr Holdsworth said the boys were very excited for the match.
While he was still unsure of the final game plan, he did have some ideas.
“Getting the ball out of the centre will be the key to be honest, on a small field,” he said.
He was hoping for people of Bermagui to come out and support the team on their home turf.
“It’s going to be a great day for Bermagui,” he said.
“We are hoping for a few hundred to show up, but we’ll see how we roll.”
