The kits, designed for children and beginner sewers, include all that you need to create your own soft toy rabbit including pre-cut felt, material for clothing with a pre-marked pattern and a set of full instructions.
“Learning to sew provides an escape from chaotic and busy lives and promotes precious time spent with much loved people in our lives; a child, grandchild, or niece or nephew,” Ms Ubrihien said.
“Sewing not only gives us practical skills, like mending something, I believe it also helps to develop important life skills such as patience, organisation, coordination, logic and independence.
“Following a pattern, measuring, using a foot pedal, and carefully putting something together; all these things help children to learn important skills.
“The most positive thing I have learnt from being creative is that you are never bored when you have that wonderful place to go which is rich in ideas.
“Sewing has given me much pleasure - I’m so pleased to be helping to pass this on to the next generation.
“I love sewing and being creative with my granddaughter, Nami, we have a lot of fun together.
“There is nothing like watching a child concentrate while sewing and then seeing the excitement and sense of achievement they feel on completing their task!”
Ms Ubrihien is the creator of Artstich, which uses environmentally sound materials when it is possible, such as toy stuffing from recycled plastic bottles and felt made from bamboo and cotton.
She plans to expand her line of kits by creating more animals in the future.
