A drunk and drugged Adelaide woman, who ran over her husband's friend in her driveway, has avoided an immediate jail term.

Lisa Jane Chapman left her victim with serious injuries, and ongoing scarring and nerve damage after the incident in June 2021.
The trio had been socialising, drinking and taking cocaine when late at night Chapman got behind the wheel of a car parked in her driveway.
The victim stood in front of the car in plain view as she edged slowly forward.
He then lay down in front of the car, out of sight.
It was then that Chapman drove over him with the front wheels.
The man screamed loudly, but after stopping momentarily, the now 34-year-old then drove over him with the rear wheels.
Passing sentence in the South Australian District Court on Tuesday, Judge Michael Durrant said CCTV footage of the incident was disturbing and had changed the victim's life for the worst.
But the judge accepted Chapman's offending was out of character and that she was deeply sorry and remorseful.
"I do accept that you were not aware you had run over (the man) until you saw him laying on the ground," he said.
"That and your reaction can be explained by your intoxication."
Chapman had pleaded guilty to causing serious harm by dangerous driving.
She was jailed for just over three years with a non-parole period of 19 months.
But Judge Durrant suspended the terms, placing her on a three-year good behaviour bond.
He also banned Chapman from driving for 10 years, with a warning that if she got behind the wheel while suspended she would go to prison.
