As the Sapphire Coastal Adventures shallow draft tourist vessel came into view, it brought with it pods of dolphins as his spectacular aerial shots show.

"There seems to be a few dolphins at the moment, a lot of seabirds and a lot of activity in the ocean," Brett said.

"There's quite a bit to see, big bait balls and there's been hammerheads and bottlenose dolphins around."

Jess Millar at Sapphire Coastal Adventures said they had several pods of dolphins at Long Point, Tura Beach and Dolphin Cove on the trip.

"This year has been one of the best for dolphins; they just seem to love the new boat," Jess said.

The Millars purchased Sensational II in late 2020 to operate from Merimbula as she is a shallow draft tourist vessel and the Merimbula sandbar had become very shallow.

"We have been so lucky with dolphin sightings lately. There's a lot of mums and little ones and it's great to see the large oceanic bottlenose dolphins too," Jess said.

Jess said that the previous week they found a playful pod of bottlenose dolphins off Long Point and travelled north with them all the way to Tura Head.

"There was even a cheeky seal that swam and jumped waves with them the whole way! The dolphins have been loving the swell off Tura Beach and it is so fun to watch them surf in on the waves and then jump out the back of them - hard to photograph but lots of fun to watch," she said.
