The expo will be held on the weekend of 21-23 January 2022 with a trade show style event on the Saturday providing people with access to all the information they need to consider making a sea change.
On the Sunday it is all about getting outdoors and enjoying all the wonderful experiences that Merimbula has to offer.
Chamber president Nigel Ayling said it was a great opportunity for business, sporting groups and community organisations to highlight their offerings and provide an experience for visitors so that they get a taste of what it was like to live here.
The chamber is interested in hearing from sporting clubs, community groups, tour companies, historical groups, service groups and other businesses.
The Merimbula Big Game and Lake Fishing Club are going to open their doors for a few hours for a meet and greet, a barbecue and to welcome people and Marine Rescue are going to open their boats for inspection.
"We want it to have a real local feel, so if the soccer or cricket club want to put on a come-and-try day or the local museum wants to do a history walk around town that would be great. Service groups get involved too by providing volunteers to take people on guided walks along the boardwalk, to beaches or even shopping tours. Anything that shows people what the locals do or they can expect to do if they move here," Mr Ayling said.
Tour business and tour operators are encouraged to participate too, with fishing or dolphin cruises, oyster tours or farm experiences.
The chamber would love to see the local cafes and restaurants get involved by putting on special events for the day, introducing people to local produce, taste local wines or beer, or even put on a cooking class.
"We would love to have a whole host of events on through the day and really showcase all the wonderful things there are to see and do in the local area."
The chamber is now fielding EOIs from organisations and companies that want to get involved.
