It's wind and big swells that are likely to impact the Far South Coast most with the approaching low pressure system, according to independent weather forecaster Dennis Luke.

"It's not so much the rain, but you'll be more affected by the wind," Mr Luke said.
He expects the wind to be increasing from about sunrise tomorrow (August 24) with winds strengthening in Merimbula bay from 25km/hr in the early morning to nearly 40km/hr by late afternoon and coming from the south.
"The further you go out (to sea) the wind will increase to 50km/hr and more," he said.
He said while we will get some rain, the heaviest rain will affect areas further north towards Wollongong and Sydney.
"It's a low pressure system tucked between two highs, one over the continent and the other out over the Tasman Sea. The winds will last for between 24-36 hours and the swell could get up to 4m," Mr Luke said.
Looking ahead Mr Luke said there had been talk of a La Nina for the spring but he believes it will weaken.
He said the Southern Oscillation Index was showing only a very slight leaning towards La Nina.
"This will mean cooler and slightly above average rain and for summer I think we're going to be seeing something very similar to last summer," Mr Luke said.
