Spanning ages from 18 to 71 years, a dozen of the lads were successful in gaining accreditation in providing first aid, CPR resuscitation and basic life support.
"The training conducted by Apply First Aid Eden Monaro was simply the best and gives our members the skills they need to save lives in emergencies, which at our age can easily happen," said Les Ford, president of the Nimmitabel Men's Shed.
"Moreover, the visitors we get to our Men's Shed, the heritage-listed Nimmitabel Railway Station, are increasing and we are now confident to assist if and when duty calls."
Participants from the Nimmitabel Men's Shed in the training included Rod Anderson, Willow Anderson, Ken Cowling, Leigh Dick-Read, Kelvin Fahey, Anthony Farrow, Les Ford, Keith Herbert, Jonathon Kendall and Harold Thistleton. The Nimmitabel Men's Shed expressed its appreciation for the grant funding provided to undertake this training.
