Eggs-stra, eggs-stra! South Coast business looks to donate excess produce

A large order from a Sydney client has been postponed until early July, so the Bemboka business's cool room is filled with around 600 dozen eggs and being opened up to local groups.

Bega Valley Eggs is keen to hear from you if you can make use of their free range produce.

Owner Joscelin McMillan said the current stock of eggs should be good for around six weeks, but given the way the business rotates their stock for supply orders, they need to clear the current lot out before fulfilling the Sydney order next month.

"We would rather they go into the community than into the compost," she said.

If you're keen, Ms McMillan said she can even deliver on Thursdays.

Meanwhile, the fresh egg company based in Bemboka is going from strength to strength, with multiple Sydney outlets, including Woolworths supermarkets, signing them up as suppliers.

Ms McMillan said their most recent expansion saw them increase to 7000 chickens on their farm.

They already supplied all the Woolies outlets in the Bega Valley but have been able to move into the Sydney market as well.

"Everything is going well and the possibilities are endless," she said.
