Albury-bound V/Line train hit 16-tonne coil at 110km/h

IMPACT: The large steel coil, which weighed 16 tonnes, fell from a freight train at Winton before being struck at about 110km/h by an Albury-bound V/Line train. Two V/Line staff sustained minor injuries during the impact.

The rail safety authority has recommended changes be made after a crash involving an Albury-bound passenger train and large steel coil weighing 16 tonnes.
