St Pat's in Bega hosts three introduction sessions in Term 4 of each year to give the youngsters a chance to become familiar with the school and the learning environment ahead of their arrival in the new year.
Usually parents are able to join their children for these sessions, and they may be doing just that for the second visit once COVID restrictions ease a touch more in coming days.
However, it didn't seem to matter as the small group were more than happy to be exploring boxes of dinosaurs and farm animals, creating things with playdough, playing board games and completing jigsaw puzzles.
Classroom support teacher Emma Grant said they were very excited about having the children discover the joys of Kindergarten and said 21 children were already enrolled for 2021.
"It's a beautiful small class for next year," principal Jo Scott- Pegum added.
