When Saturday opened to damp grounds there was plenty of back and forth about matches going ahead but early showers cast aspersions and when heavy rains started again at lunch time, play was abandoned.
Each of the clubs scheduled to play have been awarded a drawn result with no major impact to the ladder to be gleaned this early in the season.
Division two matches were also scheduled to start on the weekend, but two of the three games were abandoned.
The third saw Eden picking up an opening round win after a forfeit from South Euro ahead of the weather disruption.
Rain is expected to continue with high possibility of showers through to Thursday, but officials are hoping it will clear ahead of the weekend when junior draws start.
