The Snowy Monaro Regional Council said the Bombala sewer mains cleaning and inspection program was intended to enhance the operation and maintenance of sewer drainage infrastructure and access chambers.
"This project will identify asset renewals in a priority program into the future to ensure the systems perform effectively with minimal pipe breaks, chokes while maintaining the health and wellbeing of the community," council said.
The cleaning and inspection program requires sewer mains to be jet cleaned and CCTV inspected for defects.
Works will be carried out between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday only.
All work will be done in accordance with social distancing guidelines and council said it would endeavour to limit work in private properties to no more than 1-2 hours.
All communication and works carried out will be performed by council's approved contractor Rangedale Drainage and Industrial Services.
Rangedale will notify by letterbox drop, at least one week in advance, of work to be undertaken in the specific street. Rangedale will also doorknock prior to entering private property to carry out works.
If you have any queries or concerns, contact Rangedale Drainage Services on 0427 313 977 or council's representative, Greg Searle on 6455 1840 during business hours.
Council apologises for any inconvenience this work may cause and asks residents and motorists to be mindful of work crews, and plant and machinery that will be involved on and around this program of works.
