Council usually live streams its meetings from the chamber at Bega but will be unable to do so on this occasion as there are technology issues around the interface between Zoom which has risen to popularity in recent weeks as a video conferencing means, and council's live stream software.
Most councillors are expected to take part from home although Cr Tony Allen will be at the council chambers because of poor internet quality at his home.
It is understood that councillors will have cards to hold up - green tick for agree and red cross for disagree - when voting.
A council spokesman said that a recording would be uploaded to council's website as soon as possible although there may be some delay to the original planned day of Friday because of the Easter holidays.
However a video wrap up of the council meeting will still take place after the meeting and be posted to council's Facebook page.
The changes to the meeting practice have been authorised by the Office of Local Government via changes to the legislation, the council spokesman said.
Matters for discussion at the April 8 meeting include the future of the olf Merimbula Visitor Information Centre on Beach Street, an update on sporting complex plans, a request to the Catholic Church to donate land for a community hall in Kiah, Pambula squash courts, support for Regional Express in the form of reduced fees at Merimbula Airport and funding relating to the bushfires as well as a late item for an increase in the government's Financial Assistance Grant to council.
