It was the Bears opening the account early with a left-side movement featuring a deceptive flick pass from behind out to the winger who dived into the pocket.
A neat line kick from the hooker put the visitors ahead 6-0 early. Later a last tackle bomb from the Bears was fumbled by Bega to allow the North Canberra outfit to recover and run in a try.

However, the youthful Roosters started to hit their strides and it was Noah Murray opening the account for Bega with some good left-edge movement.
Earlier, the Chicks had been running 10-10 with the Canberra Bears before the Chicks began opening gaps and exploiting their immense speed to pile on points.
Alana Dummett was a key figure in the scoreline, stretching her legs the distance of the field a couple of times to extend Bega's advantage.
Madison Parbery proved influential in breaking some of those gaps, but always found inside support from Dummett.
Joccoaa Taylor was at her best, proving strong with the boot, while also running in a late try.
The Roosters thanked the North Canberra Bears for making the trip down with this being the third year the two clubs have met for a pre-season trial.
The two clubs are building a bit of tradition and said they were excited to continue the match for the 2021 season.
