Long-time sponsor Shane Platts boosted the prize pool with the four-shoot meet condensed to a one-day outing.
A great crowd of 35 shooters attended with Bega throwing up a glorious sunny day, adding just the slightest of breezes in the afternoon. Visitors included members from Young, Cooma, Canberra and Bombala as well as the local crew.
Squads shot two sets of 25 targets and at the end of the first round, AA Grader, Alf Niesar off 22m and B Grader John Walker, 17m held top spot with 49/50, one target up on Peter Athanasopoulos 48/50 with Kevin Hurt, George Toyne, Craig Field and Mark Evans in contention on 46/50.
At the end of the second round, Alf Niesar secured the sash with 96/100. Peter Athanasopoulos took second with a neat 93/100. Dean Shipton collected third with a score of 92/100, one target up on fourth placed Craig Field. George Adamopoulos claimed fifth after taking an extra four targets in a shoot-off to relegate Brian Moffitt to sixth with 94 and 93 respectively.
April 5 will be the club's next meet for the Tarraganda 100. Officials said it normally runs in January, but was postponed due to the fires with the club to make a donation to the Bega Lions Bushfire Appeal on the day.
