The Tathra Amateur Fishing Club's Australia Day long weekend fishing comp will go ahead as planned.
"We believe that the competition is a practical way of assisting the community. It is one way of attracting visitors to Tathra at a time when it really needs it," club president Ray Spencer said.
The competition gets underway with entry from 5.30am on Saturday January 25 at the KIaninny Bay boat ramp and concludes with weigh-in cut off at 1pm on Sunday January 26 at the TAFC clubhouse.
Open category entry costs ten dollars; junior category (15 years or under) entry is free.
Juniors may also compete in the Open category by paying $5.00 entry. They may then enter one fish of each species in either category, which must be nominated prior to weighing.
Weigh-in can also be done at the Tathra Beach Country Club but a signed official weigh-in slip must then be lodged with the weigh master at the TAFC club house by the Sunday final cut off.
The club's 60 centimeter limit for Dusky Flathead will apply, along with all current Fisheries restrictions.
Boat fishing entries are restricted to launchings from Kianinny Bay, Bega River, Wallagoot Lake and Nelsons River. The geographic fishing area is unrestricted.
