Bermagui Dad's Army golfers and the Bermagui Country Club presented a cheque for $1000 to Can Assist after their regular Sunday morning round on November 24.
Then on Sunday, December 8, a fundraising Christmas concert was held at Bermagui Country Club with musicians coming from Bega, Tuross Head and the local area to entertain those present. Entertainers included The Ukalips ukulele group and CWA ladies who brought the house down with a rendition of "Little Blue Man".
Organiser and emcee of the concert Lori Hammerton, along with many helpers, sold raffle tickets beforehand, and a huge Christmas hamper filling two washing baskets of goodies was drawn by Can Assist members Peter and Rhonda Van Bracht.
The raffle raised $1755 and first prize winner was Brooke Hutchins, cancer care coordinator from the oncology department in Bega.
In an amazing coincidence the second prize dinner set was won by Nikki Eastman, an oncology nurse in the Bega Valley.
The third prize clock/photo frame was won by Brian from Cobargo.
Ms Hutchins indicated she is going to divide the hamper and donate most of the goods to patients she knows are doing it tough this Christmas.
Lori thanked those who helped sell tickets with special mention to Jane Ford, Beth Hochkins, Susan Benfell, Jan Mills and Gerry.
