- Peter Beer mayor.
True to form, the region turned on four types of weather for the race. Wind, rain, sunshine, and even a spot of snow up in Perisher. What more would you like for a challenging ride?
Congratulations to all the competitors who completed L'Etape and a special congratulations to all the placegetters. We hope to see you back in our region, soon.
One of the riders was former Australian test cricket captain Steve Waugh, who rode for his charity the Steve Waugh Foundation. The foundation raises money for children with rare diseases.
Thank you Steve, and you wife Lynette, for visiting the region and for the charitable work you undertake.
On Friday, I had the pleasure of joining community members, council staff and the Deputy Premier John Barilaro for the official opening of the Jindabyne Flying Fox and the Jindabyne cricket nets and pitch.
The flying fox is a wonderful addition to the playground and our local member enjoyed testing it out with the children.
The flying fox is the final piece of the puzzle for the Livvi's Place playground. The inclusive Livvi's Place is a fantastic space for local families and visitors to Jindabyne.
Well done to Louise Frolich who was at the opening. Louise passionately supported the completion of the original playground in the days of the then Snowy River Shire Council.
A special plaque was unveiled at the opening of the new Jindabyne cricket nets with the nets named after former cricketer Blake 'Tiger' McGrath who passed away far too young. Blake's father and mother were present at the opening.
