"This years event consisted of theme-based rotational activities, a whole school assembly, book parade, book fair, P&C hosted lunch and a fairy tale movie session," a spokesperson for the school said.
Students spent the morning engaging in a range of fairy tale inspired peer support activities including making magical dragon eggs, creating fizzy witch potions and competing in a mythical creature coding challenge.
Creating a witches potion taught students about chemical science by creating their own signature witch potion - think green slime, edible insects and purple fizzy topping.
Students also used Play-Doh to solve different literacy riddles and problems.
They also tried their hand at making some worms and critters for the witches cauldron.
Making magical dragon eggs was another popular activity. The eggs were decorated using aluminium foil, coloured clay, gems and craft pieces which proved to be a popular activity.
Later in the day parents and carers were invited to join the students for an enchanted school assembly.
After the assembly the P&C cooked a delicious sausage sizzle and hot chip lunch.
Students ended the magical day by watching a movie adaptation of a fairy tale book they have studied in class before getting their photo taken in the K12 castle.
"In a nutshell the day was about sparking student engagement in literacy studies and creating positive peer relationships through a range of fun education activities."
After the school assembly the annual Book Parade took place on the grass area in front of the play equipment.
Parents were asked to bring along a chair to sit and watch the parade of students in the year groups starting with kindergarten led by Mrs McKinnell.
Students paraded once around the oval before lining up to talk into the microphone where they explained their character and why they chose them. Prizes were awarded for costumes.
"From a behavioural standpoint the day followed the principals of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program and the 3-Tier Response to Intervention framework," the spokesperson said.
"It included the use of positive language, approaches to behaviour management and targeted learner outcomes for identified students.
"The day was designed around a Cooperative Learning (CL) approach and underpinned by Social Learning Theory and Social Cohesion Perspectives."
