On Saturday afternoon, wind speeds in Bega reached 61kmph and gusts peaked around 81kmph, according to WeatherZone.
Bega unit commander Yvette Ringland said the majority of incidents the SES attended were tree jobs and the "chainsaws were kept pretty busy", but there were also some incidents of wind damage to people's properties.

SES deputy local commander Sapphire Coast Michael Cooksley said in Bega a shed had two walls and a roof ripped by by the wind and its contents were scattered.
He said the crews' weekend had started on Friday when they were called to Towamba to assist in the land search for a missing man, which fortunately had a positive ending when he was found the next day.
"They were in high spirits after Towamba," he said.
"If we took the land search out of it, [the number of incidents] would probably be on par with what we expect with that weather pattern."
Ms Ringland and Mr Cooksley had several messages they wanted to share with the community in light of last weekend.
They reminded people to tie down and put away items around their houses.
"Trampolines - we see photos of them in all sorts of places," Ms Ringland said.
Mr Cooksley said people needed to keep an eye on the weather outlook, visit SES's social media pages to watch out for warnings, and make sure their properties were maintained ahead of a severe weather event.
