If you missed Saturday's Bega Big Groove you should be kicking yourself as it was a spectacular showcase of this region's eclectic talents and how they can come together in a fusion of sounds and styles.
It was a high-energy mix of Japanese, Spanish, West African, Indigenous and hip hop influences, at one point seeing around 30 drummers on stage in a performance that won't soon be forgotten.
Under the direction of David Hewitt, Stonewave Taiko drummers were joined by the Bembakan African drummers, Djaadjawan Dancers, Flip the Script hip hop crew, rapper Tom "Kunda" Francis, saltwater groover Ben Fowler and bassist Sam Martin, shakuhachi flautist David Dixon, singer Dan Scollay and the talented YuNiOn family. And where else are you likely to see Flamenco dancers backed by taiko drummers?
It was loud, it was rhythmic and it had the capacity Civic Centre crowd on their feet and dancing into the night.
