There will be both under 19s men's contests in the coming weeks as well as a women's representative squad will take part in a condensed T20 draw.
A combined Far South Coast-Monaro outfit will form one of the six squads in the Cricket ACT Elite 19s competition with association spokesman Charles Aggenbach saying the coast will look to build on their previous success in the fledgling competition.
"This is their premier youth division and it is the pathway to their premier A grade comp," Mr Aggenbach said.
A series of games will run across four weekends with the draw to open from Saturday, with a split format.
"There will T20s this Saturday and Sunday, then on October 5 and 6 they will play two 50-over games," Mr Aggenbach said.
A 15-man combined squad has been named for the draw, which will provide a new experience for many to have to back up over consecutive games.
Ross Kellar and Adam Blacka will coach the outfit, which Mr Aggenbach said will face some quality opposition from the five Canberra-based outfits.
Mr Aggenbach also said the squad would be under the best leadership with Blacka and Kellar at the helm.
He said Kellar was the South East Regional Academy Coach and had been instrumental in identifying talented players in the last few years.
"It takes a lot of work to get these kids going places, but you can go places," he said.
He said good work locally had been a contributing factor in Cricket ACT now recognising the talented core of players on the coast.
There will also be a women's squad to take part in an Under 19s ladies draw after an invitation from Cricket ACT who recognised the large number of females already travelling to play in the Canberra comps.
A local contingent will be part of a five-team T20 draw with an opening round fixture to be held in Bega on October 12.
Mr Aggenbach said the opening round for the ladies will coincide with the season launch for the division one men's comp - while the local women's T20 season won't start until February.
"It will test out our girls - we've got a great core of girls who eat and breathe cricket - but we've still got some girls showing great interest in recent trrials and we're still picking our squad in the next week or so," Mr Aggenbach said.
