Each year, Kamalashila opens its doors to families to come and find out a bit about Buddhism. This year's theme is The Importance of Compassion - to oneself and others. The Family Day will be held this weekend and is led by Khenpo-la, offering meditations for everyone, from three-year-olds to teens and parents as well.
The program involves meditation, guidance for dealing with tricky moments foregrounding kindness and compassion, storytelling, sharing food, the parenting session, then craft and family games on the beautiful grassy saddle beneath Gulaga Mountain. The Kamalashila Family Day aims to bring families closer, with a shared experience of kindness, learning and spaciousness in the beautiful natural environment at Kamalashila Tibetan Buddhist Centre.
