Potoroo Palace is a special native animal sanctuary, located just 9kms north of Merimbula, and a real gem of the Sapphire Coast. It is positioned in an intimate setting, not-for-profit and dependent entirely on visitors' entry fees and donations.
Potoroo Palace is a place where you can meet a koala, hand feed the kangaroos, have a ride on the mini train, picnic at the barbecues and enjoy coffee at the on-site cafe. The cafe serves fresh home-made lunches and snacks.
Australian made ethical merchandise can also be browsed, as well as educational books and other gifts, perfect as souvenirs and Christmas stocking fillers.

The sanctuary is passionate about caring for the earth, dedicated to promoting public awareness of native wildlife, their plight in the wild and the importance of conserving Australia's unique native fauna and flora.
Many of the animals resident at the sanctuary are native to the region, some of which are now rarely seen in the wild. They include, long-nosed potoroos, rufous bettongs, echidnas, swamp wallabies, eastern grey kangaroos, koalas, dingoes, emus, reptiles and more.
Learn more about these fascinating animals and others, at the twice daily complimentary Keeper Talks, 11am and 2pm daily. Close up and more personal encounters with animals can also be arranged, all contributing to a day out to the sanctuary being a truly special and memorable event for all the family.
