In a top-of-the-table clash between the two clubs, the Merimbula Diggers held just enough edge to win by 20 points on their home soil at Berrambool 9-13-67 to 6-8-44.
After a slow start where both teams struggled to reach their attacking zones, the Diggers were able to find more scoring opportunities later in the piece.
Tathra's best on ground was attacking forward Adam Blacka who, despite some great contests for the ball, was still only able to find two goals for the visiting club.
The visitors also had four individual goal kickers with Tom Lipsham, Dean Gartside, Louis Coulton and Tullen Ford all joining the fray.
Anthony McMahon and Zac Harlow had been solid performers for the Sea Eagles to get in the best on ground points.
Unfortunately, little made much difference to stop the Diggers late in play who surged to the front before holding on to win by three goals.
In reserve grade, the Sea Eagles took command in their game against the Diggers to win by a good margin 11-8-74 to 5-2-32.
Meanwhile, the Eaglettes women's side had a bye over the weekend.
The results against Merimbula see the Sea Eagles now in third place on the ladder in both seniors and reserves.
The women's side remains in second place on the table behind the Narooma Lions who have now wrapped up the minor premiership three weeks before the season finale.
