A man known to police has allegedly threatened officers with a knife near Bega.

About 8.20pm on Wednesday, March 28, Bega police responded to calls from the public about a man walking on Tathra Rd, nearly being hit by vehicles.
Bega police recognised the man who they said was breaching bail conditions.
The man became aggressive with police and allegedly produced a pocket knife. Police reacted to the threat forcing the man to throw the knife to the ground.
The man was arrested and placed in the police truck. While he was in the cage of the truck the man allegedly kicked the cage causing damage to parts of the police vehicle.
He was eventually conveyed to Batemans Bay police station where he was charged with various offences including 'Armed with Intent', 'Assault Police' and 'Intentionally damage property'.
Bail was refused and he will face Batemans Bay Local Court on Friday, March 29.
