Hosted at the Cooma Showground, Stallions president Jason Kelly said the men's draw would be condensed to the morning with games from 9am and a final around lunch time, while the ladies competition would start at 12.30pm and run till about 5pm.
"It's going to be a big weekend, kicking off at 9am with Cooma hosting Bega in the first game of the men's draw," Mr Kelly said.
"The Nines has dragged on a little bit long in the past so we're trying something new with the men's in the morning and the ladies in the afternoon."
He said it was a push to let both sets of players "get on and play their games", while still giving fans a full day of matches and exposure to every club in the comp.
Despite fielding just a reserve grade side for the regular draw, the Snowy River Bears have been extended an invitation with a complete set of 10 teams to take part in the men's draw.
The draw includes the returning Sea Eagles and Eden Tigers.
"We've got Jindabyne playing as well and it will be interesting to see them run about - they play Cooma first at about 10.40am," Mr Kelly said.
"There has been a bit of player movement there so there will be plenty of feeling around that game, it's no secret their new coach is one of our first graders from the last few years."
With the ladies draw to open in the afternoon another eight teams will contend the pre-season crown in the forecast sunshine at the Cooma Showgorund.
"It's going to be a massive day of footy with some fast and furious play on show," Mr Kelly said.
"The ladies are also in scintillating form, after the All Stars game last week they will be exciting to watch."
With the men's and women's draws going back-to-back play will run from 9am right through until about 5.30pm.
Group 16 has launched a rotation for the pre-season drawcards and Mr Kelly said it was exciting for Cooma to get a shot at hosting the nine-a-side tournament.
"It will be worth heading a long for a look, we've got full canteen and bar facilities running all day," he said.
"It's not often you can go to one ground and see every club play some footy."
The Stallions will also be putting in a big performance as the host club.
"We've had a couple of trial matches fall through so we're treating this as a trial match - we'll be fielding a reasonably strong side and hoping to put on a bit of a show on the day," Mr Kelly said.
Entry is just $5 per person and there is plenty of parking available at the Showground.
